How Shipco Significantly Improved Their Operational Efficiency With The Accuracy Of Automated Freight Dimensioning
Cargo Spectre provided a customized freight-dimensioning solution to Shipco, a global shipping and logistics company, dramatically improving the speed and accuracy of cargo dimensions for greater organizational efficiency.
1 Eliminate human error
2 Boost speed and accuracy of weights and measures
3 Receive data faster from CFS provider/ICT
Shipco Transport is one of the world’s leading shipping and logistics companies, handling a high volume of international imports and exports around the globe. Shipco identified room for improvement in the speed and accuracy of its cargo weights and measurements and sought out a solution that could provide a tangible, commercial benefit to its clients. The company contacted Cargo Spectre for customizable system that could reduce the time wasted on measurements and human error in its cargo dimensioning. We worked with Shipco to improve their dimensioning accuracy and speed, starting with a custom cargo dimensioning consultation to determine the ideal dimensioning system to achieve their goals.
Our analysis determined that our Pallet Spectre would immediately improve the accuracy and efficiency of Shipco’s cargo dimensioning process by rapidly producing dims at a much higher degree of accuracy than human input. The Pallet Spectre relies on 3D scanning technology to accurately calculate the precise dimensions of every pallet in only seconds. The system’s core A.I. also instantly records the exact weight of each piece of freight as well as its physical condition. Cargo Spectre’s software automatically stores all NTEP-certified cargo data into a custom cloud-storage system we set up for the client. After a demonstration of the Pallet Spectre’s capabilities, Shipco decided to integrate the system into its entire U.S. operations.
PROJECT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
After installing Pallet Spectre technology in its U.S. warehouses, Shipco experienced dramatically improved speed and accuracy in its dimensioning process. All NTEP-certified weight and measurement data can now be instantly shared around the world, allowing the company to receive data much quicker from its CFS provider/ICT. This increased efficiency allows Shipco to pass along a real commercial benefit to its clients, giving the company a competitive advantage in a global marketplace.
MEASURE OF SUCCESS
Thanks to faster, more accurate data, Shipco increased organizational efficiency across the country with consistent, reliable, and NTEP-certified dimensions and weights. With more efficient and reliable data stored and shared easily via the cloud, Shipco can now provide real-time info dropped straight into any computer around the world, creating faster cargo insights and improved customer service capabilities. Best of all, each Pallet Spectre cost only $6,000 upfront to install.
